Hi, I’m Jess—a maternity and newborn photographer based in Rochester, NY.
In 2020, I turned my lifelong love of photography into Jess Palmer Photography, and it’s been the most rewarding journey ever since.
But more than that, I’m a mom who knows just how quickly these seasons pass.
The days can feel long, but somehow the years move faster than you expect. In the middle of it all, it’s easy to forget to slow down and take it in.
That’s what led me here.
My Why
There are moments in my own life I wish I had taken the time to document.
Photos have a way of holding onto what we can’t — the feeling of a season, the connection, the small details that change before we even realize it.
Now, I see just how much these images matter, and not just for us, but for our children.
Photos become a lens from which to tell your story.
My Approach
Calm. Relaxed. Gently guided.
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need to have everything perfectly put together.
I’ll guide you when needed and create space for real moments to unfold — the connection, the quiet, the joy.
Because those are the moments that matter most.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually with my two girls — navigating the same beautiful, chaotic, ever-changing seasons of motherhood that so many of my clients are in.
And that’s what makes this work so meaningful to me.
I don’t just photograph these moments — I understand them.
I specialize in maternity and newborn photography, capturing the beginning of your family’s story and the connection that grows from there.
