Why You Should Order Products From Your Gallery (and Not the Drugstore)
Your photoshoot is done, and now you’re ready to order products of your favorite images. You click on the store in your gallery… and then the thought crosses your mind:
Can’t I just print these at the drugstore and pick them up in ten minutes?
Sure you can.
But here’s why you shouldn’t.
Quality
The biggest—and most important—difference between a quick-service lab and a professional printing lab is quality. The quality you get from a professional lab is simply unmatched compared to a five-minute print from a drugstore.
Don’t believe me? Try it. Order one print through your gallery and one from your local drugstore. Place them side by side. I guarantee you’ll notice a difference…I did!
If your gallery was delivered by Jess Palmer Photography, your products are fulfilled by Miller’s Professional Imaging. All Miller’s products are made right here in the U.S.A., and their archival quality means your keepsakes will look just as beautiful 100 years from now as they do today.
Photography is something I value deeply, and I know you do too.
Is the cost higher? Yes.
Is it worth it? For me, it’s an easy yes.
The Shipping Myth
“But don’t I have to have my $h!t together and order early if I’m using a professional lab? Doesn’t it take forever to get my prints?”
Will you receive products from Miller’s an hour or two after ordering? No.
Will it take a week? Also no.
With Miller’s, most orders are created within 1–2 business days, and many products ship overnight at no extra cost. I’ve personally received Miller’s products in as little as two days after placing an order online. So the idea that professional lab = long wait? Total myth.
Supporting Your Photographer
Lastly, ordering through your gallery directly supports your photographer.
Your photographer (hi, it’s me!) invests time and money into choosing the products available through your gallery. Most photographers also pay monthly or per-transaction fees to offer the store feature in the first place. When you order through your gallery, your photographer receives a small portion of the sale that helps offset those costs.
When you print at a drugstore, none of that happens.
And in a small business, every bit truly helps.
