Engagement Session Prep Guide

Hello! I’m Jess.

Time moves quickly, and this season of your relationship deserves to be remembered. Your engagement session is designed to capture your connection just as it is right now. The laughter, the closeness, and the quiet moments that feel most like you.

The experience will be relaxed and comfortable, allowing you to be yourselves. I’ll gently guide you so we can create images that reflect your story and preserve this chapter of your lives — keepsakes you’ll treasure now and forever.

Need a little extra help? A Few Helpful Recommendations…

Below you will find some local recommendations of experts to help make your photoshoot extra special. I have worked with everyone both personally and professionally and highly recommend them!

Timeline

  • 8-10 weeks before the session - If you are planning on using any services like styling, hair, or makeup, this is a good time to get them scheduled.

  • 4-6 weeks before the session - Pick out and order outfits for everyone participating in the photoshoot. When they arrive, have everyone try them on including undergarments!

  • 1-2 weeks before the session - Make sure all clothing items are washed and ready to go!

  • Week of the session - Keep an eye on your email for your final invoice and reminders about the session.

  • Day before the session - Lay out clothing & pack outfits for small kiddos getting dressed upon arrival!

  • Session day - Relax and don’t stress. This is all about leaning into each other and embracing this special and joyous time in your lives — whether that’s quiet snuggles or laughing like little kids!

Things to remove before your session starts: Smart watches and hair ties from wrists. Cell phones, wallets, and keys from pockets.

After your session

All the best images will be edited in a private online gallery and sent to you in 3 weeks in a private online gallery.

Through your gallery you may download the high resolution files of your images and order products including but not limited to albums, canvas, and cards.
