What kind of photographer are you?
3
My approach is relaxed, connection-focused, and gently guided. I’ll give you direction when you need it, but I’m not looking for perfect poses or perfectly behaved kids. I leave plenty of room for movement, play, connection, and the moments that happen naturally in between.
You’ll end up with a mix of beautifully composed portraits and photographs that feel like your family. You’ll remember what life felt like, not just what everyone looked like when you look back at your photos.
Where will my session take place?
Depending on the type of session you choose, we can photograph your family outdoors, in your home, or at one of my recommended studio spaces. Together we’ll choose a location that works well for your family and the feel you want for your photos.

Do you travel outside Rochester
Travel within 25 miles of Webster, NY is included.
For locations farther away, a small travel fee may apply based on the additional distance. Feel free to shoot me an email at jess@jesspalmerphotography if you have any questions regarding travel fees before booking.
5
What is your price for a session?
6
All pricing information including bundle options and add-ons can be found here.
When is payment due?
7
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your session date. Typically the deposit is 50% of the total session price, however, for packages the deposit is a bit lower.
The remaining balance will be emailed 3 days before your scheduled session and is due by the date of your session. Cash or check are always welcome to be brought to your session for your final payment.
What happens after I book a session?
8
Once your session is booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email that includes access to your Session Prep Guide. Your prep guide includes details on what to expect, styling guidance, what happens after your session, and my contact information.
You’ll receive a reminder about your session and your remaining invoice a couple days before your session.
What should we wear?
9
You don’t have to figure this out alone! After booking, you’ll receive styling guidance inside of your Session Prep Guide to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully while still feeling like you. I’m also happy to look at outfit options or help you coordinate your family.
What happens if there is bad weather?
10
For outdoor sessions, I keep an eye on the forecast as we get closer. If the weather truly isn’t going to cooperate, we’ll work together to reschedule your session.
I don’t typically make the final call until about 3 hours prior to your session start time since Rochester weather likes to change its mind!
What if someone in my family gets sick?
11
If someone in your family is sick, please reach out as soon as possible. We’ll decide together whether it makes sense to move forward or reschedule.
Please note: depending on the nature of your session, rescheduling may require a change in location or an adjustment of your session start time.
When will we receive our photos?
12
All your high resolution images that I edit from your session will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download your images within 3 weeks of your sessions.
Print products from the professional print lab, Miller’s, can be ordered directly via your private gallery.
